Mid-Summer Vacations Thoughts from ..........

Now back again - after a very long time , the truth is - but never lost in mind and dreams. Although nothing goes well and prosperity really seems to go by and away from us and myself, the Aegean Spirit remains High and Great !!!

Of course I am deeply sceptical and disturbed by the lack of interest and responce from my Blogg "AEGEAN WAVES & WINDS", and really I cannot understand the reasons, or what has gone wrong with it or my articles published in it.

So today I will give another looks-refreshment and play with basic colours of my script !! On the other hand I have invited my dear Greek colleague "Franjesko K.", to forward to my Blogg, some of his iniciatives that seem to become rather disasterous instead of prosperous and hopefully completed for the Good Luck and Future of that marvelous island of ANDROS, that he also has choosen for his life's paveway !!

The News about Enviromental - Climatic Disturbance in that little European Southeastern border-land, GREECE, are not at all good and hopefully going on. Hundreds of "unexpected" (or really out of real care and prevention, even then after thorough planning) fires, all over the mountainous or coastal lines, have been destroying the least of woods and planted surroundings of almost half the inhabited areas around cities and little towns or villages. Most of all, the damage done around ATHENS and ATTICA prefecture, have caused such a destroy of the last remaining "natural lungs" that noone can precisely set the least standards of living under normal conditions of health - clean air - temperature stability - wind and rain damage coming for all the 2,5 mil. people living in the area !!

ATHENS, newly elected Mayor - mr. NIKITAS KAKLAMANIS - seems to struggle really for the best of his co-citizens, on a courageous task of making on his short - or longer - period of mayorship, whatever all the other predecessors didn't achieve in whole. Garbage Collection - Management and Recycling is a main sector needing exact and intensive care or even "war-zone" over those not caring or deleberately littering. Noone can stand living in a city that is considered European capital, having the jewel of PARTHENON and Ancient Times around its own image and historical property, that cannot compare with its own citizens care and self-respect about their own and family (kids specially) Health !!

Back in our Aegean islands modern life, we can find the same origins of real pain and sadness going hand by hand with "prosperous tourism days and months" ! How do we manage in modern Greece to combine our friendly - but honestly "money grabbing" - hospitality to All-over-Globe people coming in great masses (by airplanes and ships, busses and cars) with all the certain inadequate infrastructures that we cannot cope with ourselves, all-year long? Nothing will be done - except from one or two excemptions - to plan and establish New Waste Disposal Centres for each island, based on the knowledge and scientific orders or nowadays, far different from those ones still in a no-shame existance, being burnt once in a while and noone caring among the local leaders, else than caring of getting the most and least of their wealthy - or not - visitors (that contribute massively in the mupliplied production of that waste itself !!). Some very few people - dreamers and romantic "philosophers" - still struggle to show and prove the unevitable truth coming, that noone more will choose to visit our marvelous islands in a while more - on next years coming - if they are treated like that and cannot even feel safe for their families health and basic living standards. Then they will all understand what has gone wrong all that previous time of no-care and no-prevention about the Environment but also modern Life Quality , because they will have to face the lack of their own families' health and prosperity. You see nothing is given to anyone on this Earth forever and without paying any attention or care to keep and develope it, so is Prosperity - Health - Tourists' choice of ceratin places etc. Think of it a little more and take your decisions in your next minute !!!
