The third edition of Archmarathon has ended on 15 May with the announcement of the winners of the prestigious International Architecture Awards: 42 design studios from over 20 countries around the world competing for the prestigious award by a high level jury.

Here are the winners:

ArchmarathonWinner of Crowd Award: Maternity and Oncologic Parking by Díaz y Díaz Arquitectos
ArchmarathonWinner of Arts & Culture category: Fine Arts Museum of Asturias by Francisco Mangado - Mangado & Asociados

Jury motivation: This project celebrates the complexity of marrying between the existing structure and the new space.
ArchmarathonWinner of Education Buildings category: Case Western Reserve University, Tinkham Veale University Center by Perkins+Will

Jury motivation: It represents a valiable connector within the public environment of the university campus.
ArchmarathonWinner of Hotel & Leisure category: Priceless Milan by Park Associati

Jury motivation: A nomadic, temporary architecture which explores the unknonn spaces of the city in a new way. A re-interpretation of the space for leisure.
ArchmarathonWinner of Mixed Tenure Housing & Buildings category: SOS Children's Village by Urko Sánchez Architects

Jury motivation: An highly, sensitive interpretation of children's community needs and a project which adapts well to this particular contex and tradition.
ArchmarathonWinner of Private Housing category: Saigon house by a21studio

Jury motivation: It is like an adventure that eliminate all chichè of a private housing. Playfull and updating the traditional local housing typology.
ArchmarathonWinner of Religius Building category: Våler Church by Espen Surnevik

Jury motivation: A strong architecture form and a great spiritual quality to the different spaces.
ArchmarathonWinner of Retrofitting and Refurbishment category: Courtyard House Plugin by People's Architecture Office

Jury motivation: An ingenious system that not only solves the demographic issues but also inspires the whole new community life.
ArchmarathonWinner of Transport category: Luchtsingel pedestrian bridge by ZUS

Jury motivation: Questo progetto usa le infrastrutture come un mezzo per attivare spazi pubblici per la riqualificazione dell'intera comunità.
ArchmarathonWinner of Urban Design & Public Spaces category: Merchant Square Bridge by Knight Architects

Jury motivation: It shows a creative relationship between architecture, engeneering and urban design.
ArchmarathonWinner of Workspaces category: The Foundry by 00 Architecture

Jury motivation: A thoughful adaptation of an old factory extended with new facilities creating an affordable and sociallity welcoming ensamble.
